IQS-JEOL NMR Platform laboratory, created in 2024, arises from the collaboration agreement signed between JEOL as a leading company in the manufacture of scientific equipment and IQS as a university center. The acquisition of two new generation NMR machines by IQS promotes university research into the study of the technique and its application in industrial environments such as the field of chemistry, biochemistry and the medical-pharmaceutical a reas. The collaboration between the two entities allows the interrelationship between JEOL experts and IQS teaching and research staff.
Equipment and technologies
High resolution 1D and 2D NMR experiments for structural characterization of synthetic
organic molecules, biomolecules, active pharmaceutical ingredients, and natural products.
IQS-JEOL NMR PLATFORM has two next generation JEOL instruments equipped with ECLZ-R consoles.
- 400 MHz spectrometer
lt has a hybrid use for solution NM R and solid-state NM R. lt is equipped with the “ROYALPROBETM HFX” probe, which is particularly versatile in the context of the pharmaceutical industry, and a “3.2 mm HXMAS” probe that allows the analysis of samples in solid state with an automatic sample changer.
- 600 MHz spectrometer
lt has a “ROYALPROBETM” room temperature probe, as well as a “SuperCOOL” cryogenic nitrogen pro be yielding enhanced sensitivity in a wide range of nuclei, a feature that is particularly interesting in biomedical research or in the analysis of biological samples. The “SuperCOOL” probes offer a significant increase in sensitivity. lt allows the analysis of dilute or compound samples, while routine concentrated samples can be analysed in extremely short times.
The SuperCOOL pro be can contribute to establish high-throughput work in N MR operation. lt works in a wide temperature range that allows the analysis of polymers at high temperatures with high sensitivity results.
