What will you learn with our master in management?

 

The Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management is taught jointly through a unique combination between the IQS School of Management, Loyola Marymount University, and Fu Jen Catholic University. These institutions proudly form part of approximately the top 12% of business schools that have been accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business).

This master’s degree employs a totally innovative model, recruiting students from countries as diverse as Spain, Ireland, Russia, China, the Philippines, Mexico, Lebanon, and more. All students are able to take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience, learning in three cities as unique as Barcelona, Taipei, and Los Angeles.

Moreover, the methodology of the master’s degree consists of working on a large number of case studies and projects that students conduct, sometimes individually and others as part of a team. If you enrol in this master’s degree, you will also have to develop a series of Consulting Projects during the programme in collaboration with companies that are present in global markets.

Once you finish the course, you will earn the official master’s degree from the three institutions. The master’s degree lasts for 12 intensive months and requires full-time dedication.

The curriculum of the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management is structured in three sequential modules across the three geographical locations. Each module consists of four subjects in addition to the consulting projects and the Master Thesis in the form of a business plan.

The MGEM takes place across three different universities and continents:

From September to December in Barcelona (Spain) at the IQS School of Management.

From January to April in Taipei (Taiwan) at Fu Jen Catholic University.

From May to August in Los Angeles (USA) at Loyola Marymount University.

MGEM, 12 months of international experience

The Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management (MGEM) is taught jointly by the IQS School of Management at Ramon Llull University in Barcelona (Spain), Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei (Taiwan), and Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles (USA) and represents a unique experience in the field of global markets. Upon completing the master’s degree, you will receive a diploma issued by the three universities.

Over the course of 12 intensive months you will experience everything that comes with living and taking part in life in the three geographical areas in which the programme takes place (Barcelona in Europe, Taipei in Asia, and Los Angeles in the USA). During the programme, you will discover different cultures, make friends from all over the world, and enjoy a once in a lifetime experience. First semester (September-December) at IQS (Barcelona, Spain).

During the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management you will engage in different activities that will allow you to obtain a complete and multidisciplinary profile in the field of global business. At IQS you will carry out consulting projects with companies that are present in global markets; at Fu Jen University you will be able to complete your Master Thesis, which consists of creating a business plan; and at Loyola Marymount University you will be able to do a professional in-company internship.

In addition to this, there are countless other activities that will allow you to discover and understand international companies from the inside and develop your talents and soft skills.

MGEM Consulting Projects

During your time in Barcelona and Los Angeles, you will form part of a consulting team of four or five students who work on solving real business case studies of international companies. This experience will give you the opportunity to learn firsthand about project management, teamwork in a multicultural environment, and managing customer expectations. You will also develop presentation skills, analytical thinking, and learn to focus your strategy on problem solving.

You’ll be able to take advantage of the necessary advising and tutoring to apply the concepts you learn in the theoretical classes and develop and strengthen your skills.

Visits to companies and conferences

Company visits will provide you with insight into the different types of work environments and business structures. During the master’s degree you will visit different types of industries to learn more about product cycles and management strategies. In addition, we invite entrepreneurs, senior managers, and HR professionals to give talks during the programme. These activities offer you the opportunity to network with professionals from different fields on three different continents.

Startup Acceleration Projects

As an MGEM student, you will work with our startup incubator, IQS Tech Factory, and be able to collaborate with the Startup Acceleration Programme. This gives you the opportunity to work alongside one of the 10 most innovative startups that are in the programme and support it by performing a financial risk analysis and developing an international business strategy plan. During the time you spend at Fu Jen University in Taipei, you will further develop your entrepreneurial skills by developing your own business plan and bringing your idea to market.

 

MGEM Business Games

These games allow you to practice some of your managerial skills in a different, fun, and competitive way. You will take part in a competition in which you will carry out a series of business simulations on small teams. These simulation games are focused on teaching students more about decision making in the areas of marketing, innovation, sales, negotiation, and entrepreneurship.

 

Internship in Los Angeles

As an MGEM student, you have the opportunity to do a three-month internship at the end of the master’s degree in Los Angeles if you wish. In this case, Loyola Marymount University will coordinate the internship.

Admissions process

Apply for admission

Once you have completed your registration, the system will assign you a user number then you must create a password. You can check the status of your application at any time with this login information.

If you are an IQS student, you must pre-register directly from your SIGMA profile. Enter your username and password and go to official studies/pre-registration.

Documentation to upload

To apply for admission to the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management, you must submit the following documentation:

  • Proof of payment of the pre-registration fee (€100), which you can pay in person or by bank transfer.
  • Photocopy of valid ID or passport.
  • Complete original transcript or copy of transcript.
  • Document accrediting the English level required to enrol in the master’s degree. Your TOEFL score is the required supporting document (minimum 80 Internet Based Score).
  • Two letters of recommendation.
  • 1 Curriculum Vitae.
  • letter of interest in which the candidate supports their application.
  • 1 ID-type photograph in colour with a white background.

Payment:

  • Payment of €100 by credit or debit card to open and process your application.
  • It is only refunded in the event of non-admission.
  • If you make the payment from outside of Spain, you must do so through Flywire: www.flywire.com/pay/iqsland

The master’s degree coordinator will contact you for an interview. Subsequently, IQS will notify you by email on the decision regarding your admission.

Once admitted, you have a period of two weeks to make your pre-enrolment payment. You must pay a pre-enrolment tuition fee of €3,000. The pre-enrolment payment is non-refundable and does not entail an additional cost as it will be deducted from the total tuition fees once your enrolment is finalized.

If you are a non-EU student, you will receive your visa letter once IQS has received your pre-enrolment payment.

Once the enrolment period has opened, and if you have completed the previous stages, you will receive an email from the IQS Registrar’s Office with the credentials and instructions you need to proceed with your enrolment.

Using your credentials, start your session on the SIGMA academic management application and formalize your enrolment by indicating the payment method.

Scholarships and financial aid

For students enrolled in the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management, the Excellence Scholarships can cover up to 60% of programme tuition. The scholarships are awarded based on a combination of academic excellence and the ability to present a project proposal that students can develop throughout the duration of the Master.

In 2023, the Master in Global Entrepreneurial Management entered the QS BUSINESS MASTERS RANKINGS: MANAGEMENT 2024 within its “Top 100” in the world (72nd place).

Also recognized in the EDUNIVERSAL “Best Masters Ranking 2022.”

In May 2014, it was awarded the distinctive International Master’s Programme (IMP) recognition by the Government of Catalonia. This distinction recognizes the best international university master’s programmes.

The IQS School of Management, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Loyola Marymount University are strongly committed to quality and have established different processes to ensure continuous improvement through the Quality Committee at each of the institutions, as well as the Coordination Committee between the three universities.

IQS School of Management, Fu Jen Catholic University, and Loyola Marymount University are accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business, USA), the leading international accreditation organization for studies in the areas of business and accounting. The Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral studies at the IQS School of Management hold this accreditation and international recognition.

The IQS School of Management formally applied for membership in the AUDIT programme on 18 July 2011 under the expansion category. To this end, it adopted the design of the Internal Quality Assurance System (SGIC) of the IQS School of Engineering, which had been submitted to the University System Quality Agency (AQU) for evaluation in the 2009 AUDIT call and positively assessed on 22 April 2010.

On 13 December 2012, positive feedback was received from AQU for the design of the IQS School of Management SGIC.
