IQS-URL is preparing to once again host the BIET Meeting, the Innovation Conference on Baking Ingredients, Enzymes and Technology, which will take place on 11 and 12 June 2025 and is organized by AIQS Alumni. Technology and innovative product manufacturers, users, researchers, and distributors will meet to discuss thechallenges and opportunities the sector facesat this event, which has become established as a benchmark in connecting research, technology, and their application in the bakery industry.
In this year’s edition, BIET will focus on the new frontiers of innovation in the bakery and flour sector. To do this, it will explore key issues such as the application of artificial intelligence in production processes, the development of new ingredients, improving efficiency in the supply chain, and sustainable solutions.
The conference will feature nearly thirty speakers with recognized international prestige who will share their vision on the future of the sector, creating a unique environment to promote innovation and the application of emerging technologies. The speakers include Peter R Shewry (University of Reading and Rothamsted Research), Dea Korcari (Lallemand), Mario Martínez (University of Valladolid), Clarissa Schwab (Aarhus University), and Henrik Lundkvist (Novonesis).
The agenda includes scientific conferences, industrial workshops, roundtables, and networking sessions aimed at facilitating the exchange of knowledge and collaboration between the main actors in the sector. The sessions will be held mainly in English and Spanish and will include a simultaneous interpretation service.

The BIET (European Meeting on Baking Ingredients, Enzymes and Technology) conference is organized every two years by the AIQS Alumni Food Professional Group, with the purpose of offering the sector the opportunity to support the state of the art in the baking and related industries in Europe.
Since its creation, it has been characterized as a meeting place between research and the business community, favouring technology transfer and the development of collaborative projects. The 2025 edition will reinforce this commitment with a programme adapted to the current challenges in the sector and an agenda aimed at promoting new business opportunities.
