IQS Welcomes Over 600 New Students to Academic Year 2025-2026

Institutional Programmes 16 September 2025

On 8, 9, and 10 September, IQS held welcome events for the more than 600 new students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree and dual bachelor’s degree programmes offered in academic year 2025-2026.

The opening session was attended by leading IQS representatives including Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS, Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering, Dr Flavio Comim, Dean of the IQS School of Management, and Dr Oriol Quintana, Identity and Mission Representative. They all gave welcoming and encouraging messages to the new students during their first day on campus.

The events also included activities designed to facilitate student integration. Among them, the participation by Alumni from different degrees stood out as they shared their university and professional experiences with the new students. In addition, the academic structures of the degrees and dual degrees were presented, along with information sessions on opportunities for participation on campus and an introduction to the identity and mission of the university. A practical module on digital tools and academic resources aimed at improving student performance was also offered.

Academic presentations were complemented with group and class cohesion activities, in order to strengthen knowledge and teamwork from day one. These activities were led by senior students, which made it possible to build bonds between first-year students and those who have already been at IQS for some time.

A day earlier, on 8 September, a specific session was held for international students aimed at meeting their particular needs for the beginning of their university experience in a new country. IQS has significantly increased the number of students from international backgrounds, especially in the Bachelor’s Degrees in International Business, Business Administration and Management, and Marketing. It is also worth highlighting the presence of international students in the Bachelor’s Degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Biomedical Sciences.

This international gathering featured participatory dynamics such as Getting to know each other and International student experiences, in addition to a session on Cultural Shock, taught by Anna Rodríguez, an educator with Ideas on Tour. Students from Italy, Bulgaria, Colombia, Mexico, Morocco, France, Mozambique, Peru, the United States, and Germany, among other countries, actively participated in these integration activities.

IQS’s academic offerings combine scientific and business management degrees. The IQS School of Engineering offers Bachelor’s Degrees in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmacy, Industrial Engineering, Biotechnology, and Biomedical Sciences, as well as four dual bachelor’s degrees in the field of science. The IQS School of Management offers Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration and Management, Marketing, and International Business.
