IQS rewards sustainable commitments with the "Get Moving for Change" campaign

Events Institutional 26 May 2025

The IQS community has demonstrated its commitment to sustainability through the “Get Moving for Change” campaign, a dynamic and participatory initiative that promotes more sustainable mobility habits. Within the framework of Ramon Llull University’s (URL) commitments to reduce emissions and fight climate change, the campaign has actively involved students, faculty, and staff members.

Over the course of several weeks, participants were able to score points through challenges and questionnaires available on the IQS App. Combining learning and action, the competition culminated with hundreds of participants and a clear message: small actions can have a great collective impact.

On 16 May, IQS held the awards ceremony for the most dedicated teams. The group of first year students from the Bachelor’s Degrees in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering was recognized as the most active class and won a meal for their team after an exam to celebrate their collective effort.

Dr Carles Malet, Associate Director of IQS, personally thanked the students for their involvement and encouraged them to continue being committed to making the transformation towards an increasingly sustainable university.

On Friday, 23 May, individual awards were also presented to faculty and staff members who stood out with their participation:

  • Emilio Miró, for his original approach recommending sustainable travel.
  • Dr Llorenç Puig, for his perseverance in all the challenges.
  • Dr Giovanni Dalmasso, for being the fastest to answer the questionnaires.

All three underscored the value of the initiative. Miró remarked that the actions allowed him to start conversations within the team about how to travel more sustainably. Dr Puig praised the enthusiasm of his students, which was key to winning the meal. For his part, Dr Dalmasso appreciated the fun format of the campaign, which managed to involve the entire IQS community.

Sustainable actions that are already a reality

One of the first proposals that emerged from the campaign has already become a reality: the creation of a platform for IQS community members to share a vehicle, with the hashtags #ImFrom and #ComingByCar. This tool makes it possible to coordinate trips and reduce the environmental impact of daily travel.

IQS continues to promote an educational and organizational model aimed towards sustainability. Campaigns such as “Get Moving for Change” are tangible examples of how collective participation can contribute to a greener future.
