IQS seeks to respond to the call of the Society of Jesus in Spain, joining to help people affected by the damage caused by the storm that has hit several regions of Spain hard, especially Valencia.
In recent days, we have observed the difficult situation faced by many families in the areas impacted by DANA with great sadness. Unfortunately, the magnitude of the damage is so vast that recovery will not be immediate. It will require a continuous effort by citizens and institutions for many months. In order for these families to rebuild their lives and reach a basic, normal situation, collaboration and solidarity by society as a whole over time will be essential.
We’re calling for collaboration in the DANA EMERGENCY INITIATIVE, ALONGSIDE THE MOST VULNERABLE PEOPLE, a coordinated action between the people and the work of the Society of Jesus. Donations will be sent to organizations specialized in emergencies that will handle the collection, storage, and distribution of basic necessities. In addition, human and spiritual support will be offered to the most affected people and communities, working within a network and a spirit of solidarity.
IQS has also joined the statement of support and solidarity with the victims of DANA issued by the Conference of Rectors of Spanish Universities (CRUE).
We are united in our firm commitment to support those who need it most.
