IQS has launched a new conference cycle entitled IQS-Harvard Talks, a series that will continue the success of the previous IQS-Cambridge Talks cycle dedicated to sustainability, and which on this occasion will focus on the field of human relations. To inaugurate this series, IQS will feature the presence of a leading international figure: Professor Claudia Goldin, Henry Lee Professor of Economics at Harvard University and 2023 Nobel Laureate in Economics.
IQS Inaugurates the IQS-Harvard Talks Cycle with Professor Claudia Goldin, 2023 Nobel Laureate in Economics

The inaugural session will take place on 14 October at 11:00 am on the IQS campus with the presentation “Conversations with Claudia Goldin.”
Recognized as one of the world’s most influential labour economists and economic historians, Professor Goldin has developed groundbreaking research that has transformed the understanding of gender, labour, and economic history. Among her most outstanding contributions are the analysis of the impact of the birth control pill on women’s professional and family decisions, the evolution of female education and employment, and the interaction between work and personal life over the centuries.
Her career has also been marked by academic milestones: she was the first woman to obtain a permanent position in the Harvard Department of Economics and she has also chaired the American Economic Association.
In this first event of the cycle, Professor Goldin will participate in a roundtable with an open colloquium in which she will share reflections on the dynamics of gender, professional careers, and labour markets, providing keys to understanding the factors that continue to shape inequalities and opportunities today.
