The aim of this programme is to renew the IQS Business Foundation’s commitment to academic excellence and the education of future professionals as well as fostering relationships between companies and scholarship recipients both in Undergraduate and Master’s degrees.
The Undergraduate, Financial Aid, and Master's Degree Scholarship Programme led by the IQS Business Foundation has awarded 46 scholarships for academic year 2022-2023 thanks to the collaboration of 26 sponsoring companies.
The aim of this programme is to renew the IQS Business Foundation's commitment to academic excellence and the education of future professionals as well as fostering relationships between companies and scholarship recipients both in Undergraduate and Master's degrees.
Held on 19 October, the award ceremony featured participation by Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS; Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering; Dr José Javier Molins, Registrar; Dr Carlos Moslares, Dean of the IQS School of Management; and Mrs. Rosa Curt, Director of the IQS Business Foundation.
Marcos Fernández García, president of Grupo AC Marca, remarked on IQS as a prestigious institution and said that "programmes such as the one we are celebrating today make it possible that the main criterion by which a young person can have access to the best possible education is their drive and their level of excellence, not their economic resources."
The event also featured a speech by Arnau Clapés Amat, a 5th year student in the Dual Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering and Business Administration and Management, who earned a scholarship awarded by Jori Armengol. He said that "the academic excellence scholarship represents a very gratifying recognition of our daily work to strive for the best academic performance. In addition, it's a great incentive and a fantastic opportunity to be able to study at IQS and be in contact with the companies in the IQS Business Foundation, which are all leaders in their sectors."

These scholarships are awarded to incoming students with limited financial resources and the best academic records. They recognize academic merit and excellence and help finance the cost of tuition. A committee assesses the student's academic record, their academic effort, the grades they have earned, and other activities and skills developed by the student.

15 Master's Degree Scholarships
Before awarding the scholarships, Fernando Peirón, Director of Fábrica de Covestro, addressed the students by saying: "Being an IQS graduate is an asset in your professional life. When you are going through challenging moments in life, such as our current times, your education and your connections with society mean everything. And having an educational background that teaches about belonging and sense of ownership, passion, courage, and leadership is incredibly helpful. Rely on your time at IQS to support you in low times and bring your disruptive learning and knowledge to passing trends and uncertainty."
María Millet Cairol, studying the Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering, who earned a scholarship awarded by Naturgy, gave the speech on behalf of the students. She thanked the IQS Business Foundation and the university for their support in connecting students, science, and business. Referring to the latter, she stressed that "their connection with the university represents a valuable opportunity for new master's degree students. This recognition gives prestige to our future in a way that enriches the academic and professional trajectory for all of us."

The ceremony also featured attendance by IQS master's degree supervisors, coordinators, and lecturers including Dr Gonzalo Rodríguez, Dr Carles Malet, Dr Xavier Berzosa, Dr Andrés García, Dr Roger Estrada, Dr Manuel Abad, and Dr Xavier Ramírez, among others.
Furthermore, the STEM degree scholarships for academic year 23-24 were launched, which promote education for women in technical areas such as science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
With this initiative, the IQS Business Foundation is contributing to promoting STEM careers and the professional development of women in these areas of knowledge, with the aim of incorporating their talent into research, innovation, and technology.
