The Scholarship Programmes for Academic Excellence, Financial Aid, Master’s Degrees, and Honorary Distinctions for Final Degree Projects, sponsored by the IQS Business Foundation, have awarded 47 scholarships for academic year 2024-2025 thanks to the collaboration of 29 sponsoring companies and two distinctions awarded by Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona.
This programme aims to promote equal opportunities, renew the IQS Business Foundation’s commitment to academic excellence, educate future professionals, and foster relationships between companies and scholarship recipients both in bachelor’s and master’s degrees.
Held on 16 October, the scholarship ceremony featured participation by Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS, Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering, Dr José Javier Molins, Registrar, Dr Flavio Comin, Dean of the IQS School of Management, and Ms Rosa Curt, Director of the IQS Business Foundation.
30 scholarships for bachelor’s degrees and dual bachelor’s degrees
Pol Oriol, Project Engineer at Casals Ventilation, awarded a scholarship from the Caixa Enginyers Foundation, on behalf of the scholarship students, and Maria Vallès, director of the Puig Foundation, as representative of the scholarship awarding companies, made the welcome speeches.

These scholarships are awarded to incoming students with limited financial resources and the best academic records. They recognize academic merit and excellence and help finance the cost of tuition. A committee assesses the student’s academic record, their academic effort, the grades they have earned, and other skills and activities they have carried out.

Cáritas Honorary Distinctions: Final Degree Project
For the second year, the ceremony presented the Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona Honorary Distinction for two Final Degree Projects. Marta Plujà i Calderon, Awareness, Partners, and Donors Specialist, and Alejandra Blanco, Business, Awareness, Partners, and Donors Specialist attended on behalf of Cáritas Diocesana de Barcelona, along with Fernando Port, Coordinator, and Marta Cerdà, Volunteer, from Universidades Con Corazón.
The best Final Degree Project at the IQS School of Engineering for academic year 2023-2024 was “Executive project for the installation of the water system at the Bujagali Primary School” by the student Inés Maria Kallenbach Guilalbe from the Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, supervised by Núria Llaverías Baques, associate professor at the IQS School of Engineering.
The best Final Degree Project at the IQS School of Management for academic year 2023-2024 was “Marketing Plan for the Duchenne Association,” by the student Ariadna Hernández from the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, supervised by Dr Noelia Jiménez with the Department of Business Management.
