IQS, Blanquerna, La Salle, ESDI, and Fundación Pere Tarrés Provide Families with Keys to Guiding Their Sons and Daughters in Choosing a University Career

The journey to university can be a stage of growth and a shared project for all family members. With the goal of facilitating decision-making, various centers of the Universitat Ramon Llull organized the talk “The Path to University: How to Accompany Sons and Daughters in Key Decisions,” which brought together dozens of parents last night at the Sarrià Library.

The event, which featured collaboration from IQS, Blanquerna, La Salle, ESDI, and Fundación Pere Tarrés, highlighted the need to equip families with tools to help young people in secondary education (ESO) and high school (Bachillerato).

Dr. Judith Lorente, psychologist, professor at Blanquerna, and member of the Psychological Counseling Service at IQS, emphasized the role of parents during her intervention, calling for calm and communication at home. She reminded attendees that the university path is a stage of growth where validating the emotions of young people is also vital.

For her part, Ms. Maypi Torné, Director of Marketing and Business Development at La Salle Campus Barcelona, focused her speech on how the university landscape has evolved and the current trends in teaching methodologies.

She also emphasized education in values—a key element in all member centers of the Universitat Ramon Llull—with the aim of training professionals with an ethical sense and a capacity for collaboration. These elements are prioritized in centers that focus on personalized student tracking. Along these lines, Ms. Torné detailed the key criteria that should be analyzed before choosing a degree, ranging from employability and international agreements to how well the student aligns with the institution’s culture.

The event also offered a space for personalized attention, allowing attendees to resolve specific doubts individually regarding the admission process of each center or more personal questions based on the student’s profile.
