With the aim of including an environmental perspective in 21st century management, IQS and the Borja Institute of Bioethics (IBB) are launching the Postgraduate Programme in Environmental Ethics, the first edition of which will begin in September 2023.
The Borja Institute of Bioethics (IBB), a pioneering institution in applied ethics that also forms part of Ramon Llull University, and IQS are committed to this applied ethics programme representing a cross-disciplinary field that offers tools to address the environmental challenges of the 21st century through reflection and dialogue and provides answers to the ethical challenges posed by professional activity.
Participants will learn to detect and address the ethical problems associated with environmental management, acquire knowledge about the philosophical and anthropological foundations in ethics, and discover and understand how to apply aspects related to environmental ethics.
Along these lines, the programme's design makes knowledge acquisition inseparable from its application to specific issues, situations, and problems in the professional fields of the participants.
The postgraduate faculty members, from both IQS and IBB, are experts in the fields of engineering, scientific development, the environment, and ethics. Highlights from the postgraduate programme include: ethical pluralism, Hans Küng's global ecological ethics and the role of religions, environmental justice, human development indicators and planetary pressure, research ethics committees, environmental ethics in business, and climate diplomacy, among many others.
The programme, managed through the IQS Executive Education Department, is taught in a blended mode, combining face-to-face, synchronous, and asynchronous sessions on an online platform.
