IQS Alumni Announces the 60th edition of the Father Salvador Gil 2024 Awards

3 October 2024

IQS Alumni has announced the 60th edition of the Father Salvador Gil Awards, aimed at recognizing the best student research work from the IQS School of Engineering and the IQS School of Management. These awards pay tribute to Father Salvador Gil SJ, a key figure in the development of IQS and a great promoter of the institution, and are aimed at promoting research excellence and scientific advancement.

The competition is open to IQS master’s degree students who have defended their Master Thesis between 2023 and 2024. Four categories have been established: best work in engineering; science and biosciences; marketing; and management, finance, and auditing. The deadline for submitting works is 3 November 2024, and the winners will be announced on 2 April 2025 during the Alumni Welcome Party.

Each winner will receive a prize of €1,000 accompanied by an accrediting diploma and a free Premium subscription to IQS Alumni for two years, which will allow them to access a network of exclusive contacts and resources. In addition, an interview with the winners and their thesis supervisors will be published in the AIQS News magazine, promoting the visibility of their academic achievements.

The selection of the works will be carried out by a committee of experts formed by professionals from various fields related to the award categories. The evaluation criteria will be based on the fulfilment of the initial objectives, the methodology used, the scientific rigour, and the relevance of the work for industry or the business sector. In the event that no work meets the quality standards, the committee may declare any of the categories void.

These awards, which began in 1959, are a reflection of IQS’s commitment to promoting science for the benefit of society, as promoted during Father Gil’s lifetime. With this type of initiative, IQS Alumni is reaffirming its mission to recognize and nurture the talent of new generations in the search for innovative and sustainable solutions.
