IQS Affirms its Commitment to Tourism through the Addition of HTSI

Research 13 July 2021

IQS has made a strong commitment to tourism by adding undergraduate programmes and master’s degrees in the field of tourism to its offer.

With over one hundred years in existence and as a founding member of Ramon Llull University, IQS has made a strong commitment to tourism by adding undergraduate programmes and master's degrees in the field of tourism to its offer. Thanks to a recently signed agreement, the academic programmes offered at the Sant Ignasi Faculty of Tourism and Hotel Management (HTSI) will be integrated into IQS starting in September 2021.

By adding these programmes, the IQS Foundation is reinforcing its institutional reach by incorporating top-quality education in tourism among its academic offerings, opening the doors to a vitally important sector, both nationally and internationally, in which Barcelona is a global benchmark. HTSI has a long history of rigorous education for young tourism professionals. This expansion will be complemented by the know-how and longstanding teaching tradition at IQS in the scientific, technological, and business management fields, focused not only on preparing competent professionals but also on educating people who positively impact the society in which we live.

HTSI and IQS share core values and have maintained solid bilateral collaboration in recent years as members of the network of Jesuit universities both nationally (UNIJES in Spain) and internationally (International Association of Jesuit Universities). The agreement to add HTSI will reinforce high-quality academic and personal education and will enhance the international reach of IQS, which proudly boasts the most important international accreditations (AACSB, ABET) and offers programmes that are featured in widely-recognized rankings such as Financial Times and QS, among others.

Starting in September 2021, the HTSI university community will move to the IQS campus, where all academic and institutional activity related to the tourism sector will take place.
