
Grading System and ECTS Credits
IQS study plans follow the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) standards and use the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), facilitating academic recognition and mobility.
What is an ECTS credit?
- ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) measure the total workload a student is expected to complete a course, including lectures, labs, independent study, and exams.
- 1 ECTS credit = 25–30 hours of work
- Full academic year = 60 ECTS
- One semester = 30 ECTS
Grading System at IQS:
- NP: Not presented – Student did not attend the exam
- Pass: Satisfactory performance in extracurricular activities
- 0 – 4.9: Fail
- 5.0 – 6.9: Pass – Satisfactory knowledge
- 7.0 – 8.9: Good – Thorough understanding
- 9.0 – 10: Excellent – Outstanding performance
- 9+: Honours – Exceeds excellence
