The winner of the third edition of Moritz University, Moritz “FigaSour," crafted by IQS students along with guidance from the beer company, is now available for sale.

The team of IQS biotechnology students won the third edition of “Moritz University” this past April, a pioneering project aimed at students from Catalan universities who are studying Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Food Science, and Technology, among others, with the aim of boosting brewing culture and talent. The award-winning students are Gerard Daunis Roure, Alba Fernández Bessa, Joan Fillol Pastor, Pablo Terroba Benéitez, and Roger Plaza Clar.

“FigaSour” is a refreshing, silky beer with personality and is a sour beer with fruity aromas where the fig notes stand out. It is orange in colour, with a generous white foam. The union between the acidity produced by lactic fermentation and the sweetness of the fig achieve a perfect refreshing combination.

The beer will form part of the exclusive limited editions that Moritz makes throughout the year, along with other fresh unpasteurized beers crafted at the Moritz Barcelona Factory microbrewery, and is available through the company's main food and beverage channels.
