Bachelor’s Degree in International Business

What I would highlight about the IQS Triple Degree programme in International Business is the opportunity to study in three very different cities and, in doing so, to meet and make friends with people from all over the world. I would also value the support provided abroad.

What would you highlight from the program?

What I would highlight about the IQS Triple Degree in International Business program is the opportunity to study in three very different cities and, with that, to meet and make friends with people from all over the world. In addition, I would value the support provided abroad.

Why did you choose IQS?

The most significant advantage of studying International Business at IQS is the opportunity to have a global perspective. The program offers a range of subjects related to international trade, international finance, global strategy and international marketing, among others. This is allowing me to gain knowledge of international markets, global supply chain management and new market entry strategies. Internationalization is also encouraged at IQS through the possibility of taking two years abroad: one in Paris (France) and the other in Sheffield (England).

How was your experience in Paris?

I have spent the last year studying in Paris, and I can say that it has been an unforgettable and enriching experience in every way. I loved the subjects, the professors and the teaching method, since I worked with projects and practical cases. Also, most of the professors had experience in the working world, which allowed them to teach how to apply the theory to the professional environment.

My favorite subject in the first semester was Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and in the second semester it was International Law. As for my classmates, the experience was wonderful, especially in the second semester, where I had the opportunity to meet and befriend two Parisian girls who are now my friends. They taught me about life in Paris, local customs and many other things.

As for activities outside the classroom, it consisted of exploring and enjoying Paris. But without a doubt, my favorite plan was to rent a scooter and ride through the streets of this great city, both during the day and at night.

As for accommodation, I was lucky, as one of my friends from the race had already found a residence called YouFirst La Defense, which turned out to be the best option we could choose. In that residence we met a lot of international people and established great friendships. In addition, it had common areas such as a lounge room with a kitchen, TVs and a foosball table, a gym, a library, among others. The rooms had private bathrooms and kitchens. One of the advantages of the residence was its location. Since it was close to the university, just 10 minutes walk, 5 minutes from the supermarket that was inside a shopping center where we found everything, and 7 minutes from the metro and RER, the metro line 1 that took you to most emblematic sites, such as the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs Elysees, the Louvre, among others.

What skills are you acquiring through this degree?

I have been able to improve my analytical and decision-making skills and my management and leadership skills. I have also acquired skills such as financial, legal and ethical knowledge.

What would you tell a student who wants to study at IQS?

If I had to give a couple of tips to a student who will be entering IQS to study my degree, I would suggest doing the Triple Degree. This involves doing academic exchanges in Paris and Sheffield. In terms of academic level, be consistent and organized.

If you have already made the decision to go, rest assured that you are choosing a path full of opportunities and personal growth. When you get there, enjoy every moment and make the most of this unique experience, as it will be a chapter hard to forget. Don’t worry about the distance to your family and friends, as you are only an hour and a half away by plane. I ended up going back 4 times during the year.

What would you tell us about the languages you learn in the degree?

During the course of this career, I am managing to improve my level of English and French. In addition, this year I have started studying Italian at IÉSEG to broaden my language skills.
