Quality Chemicals, a European manufacturer of high purity inorganic salts that is home to more than 120 employees, has joined the IQS Business Foundation has joined as a new member. The company's membership in the IQS Business Foundation was formalized through an institutional event held on 20 March at the IQS campus. On behalf of Quality Chemicals, the event was attended by Airy Cortada, Managing Director, and Lluís Aragonés, CEO. On behalf of IQS, Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS, and Rosa Curt Santpera, Director of the IQS Business Foundation, were present.
Founded in 1997, Quality Chemicals has consolidated vast knowledge of chemical manufacturing and purification systems that meet international standards such as ACS, pharmacopoeias (USP, Ph.Eur.JP, etc.), Food Chemicals Codex, and more.
Quality Chemicals is a chemical company that offers raw materials for all types of industries: pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, veterinary, human, animal and child nutrition, nutraceutical, personal and oral care, industrial, laboratory reagents, and more. With two production plants (in Esparraguera in the province of Barcelona and Venta de Baños in the province of Palencia), the company exports to more than 52 countries worldwide, with its leading markets in Europe and the United States.
The Venta de Baños plant has been in operation since 2004 and complies with GMP ICH-Q7 – EU-GMP Part II guidelines. It mainly produces excipients and APIs for the pharmaceutical, veterinary, and biopharmaceutical industries.
In 2015 it obtained the first authorization to manufacture APIs from the Spanish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (AEMPS). Since 2015 the company has developed more than 36 APIs for the pharmaceutical industry. Recently, the plant has been approved by the FDA and the Japanese PMDA Agency.
