On 12 and 13 September, IQS held welcome events for the more than 500 new students enrolled in the bachelor’s degree and dual bachelor’s degree programmes offered in academic year 2024-2025.
The event was attended by leading IQS representatives: Dr Salvador Borrós, Director of IQS, Dr Jordi Díaz, Dean of the IQS School of Engineering, Dr Flavio Comim, Dean of the IQS School of Management, and Dr Xavier Casanovas, IQS Identity and Mission Representative. They all presented a welcome address to the new students on their first day at the school.
During the event, various activities were organized to facilitate student integration. The participation of IQS Alumni members from various academic backgrounds stood out among the activities. They shared their experiences with the new students and held training sessions on opportunities for participating in campus life, along with a brief introduction on the Identity and Mission of the university. In addition, a module was presented on tools that facilitate academic success for students.
The welcome programme also included knowledge and team building dynamics led by students from different years in order to foster cohesion among new members of the IQS community from day one. This year’s event also included intercultural modules for the groups in English, with high cultural diversity and the aim of contributing to group cohesion and providing intercultural skills to the groups.
Prior to these events, a specific session for international students was held on 10 September, designed to address the particular needs of students who are beginning their university studies in a new country. This year, IQS has welcomed a greater number of international students, especially in the Bachelor’s Degrees in International Business and Marketing which have expanded their classes available in English.
