Students in the 2nd year of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business won third place at CESIM Elite 2024 Europe, a business simulation competition that brought together 29 teams of students representing 21 institutions from 10 different countries.
Specifically, the five IQS students Jordi Bobé, Joaquín Recoder, Alejandro Tur, Daniel Roig, and Jung Jaewoo participated in six rounds of the simulation, which incorporated environmental, social, and governance decisions. Not only did the teams focus on profit margins and market share, but they also had to incorporate the broader impact of their decisions on society, the environment, and customer preferences into the simulation with respect to corporate responsibility.
The students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, the Bachelor’s Degree in International Business (Global Marketing subject), and the Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Management (International Marketing subject) work with a business simulator that allows them, in small groups, to work like a company and make their own decisions regarding the marketing strategies that their business must follow in an international environment, then they obtain results in a simulated environment.
“The important thing is that students make decisions and see what the results of their decisions are, something that is difficult to achieve through projects, activities, and other evaluation systems,” states Noelia Jiménez-Asenjo de Pedro, coordinator of the Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing.
