Ten startups with great promise in the Spanish industrial sector will be present thanks to IQS at the Four Years From Now (4YFN) event held within the framework of the Mobile World Congress from 28 June to 1 July. Through its IQS Tech Factory division, the only industrial startup accelerator in Spain, ten startups supported by the university will represent the present and the future of Spanish industry.

The ten startups in the medicine, food, and robotics sectors are:

Oxeen, a startup that is developing a monitoring and management system for people with healthcare needs. Its system makes it possible to optimize hospital workflows while improving service quality.

New Born Solutions, which has created a non-invasive medical device that facilitates the early detection of meningitis in newborns. The device rapidly detects surface fluids in the body, helping to save lives and improving patient wellbeing.

Plug&Health, which monitors multiple vital signs for patients in real time along with the added advantage of allowing the monitored patients to remain mobile. Their device detects various healthcare parameters for people such as electrocardiograms, heart rate, oxygen saturation, and even helps to prevent falls.

BitMetrics, a developer of a camera and software combination applied to robotic arms for pick & place environments. This dual aspect aids in increasing operational efficiency for production processes while expanding opportunities for workers.

Steering Machines, creator of a robotic platform for industrial uses, whose patented technological innovation allows maximum mobility in confined spaces, ideal for automating industrial processes.

Engidi, whose intelligent safety helmet with sensors facilitates reducing accidents by developing tools based on the Internet of Things (IOT).

Nova Meat, which has developed a synthetic, 3D, and plant-based protein that resembles the appearance, taste, and texture of animal meat in all forms.

Kibus Petcare,  a device that automatically prepares and serves healthy and balanced dog food. This startup also offers a wide variety of recipes prepared by specialized nutritionists and veterinarians to control pet diets.

Mixo, which has created a solution for the hospitality sector to prepare mixed beverages. It has a capacity of 42 litres for alcoholic beverages, 360 litres for soft drinks, 500 glasses, and its own refrigeration system.

Bronze, the first smart toaster, which always delivers the perfect slice of toast thanks to image recognition, making it possible to have a healthy diet, save energy, and avoid waste.

IQS is committed to industry as a driver of economic recovery

The COVID-19 pandemic and the economic crisis that it has caused have demonstrated the importance of industry as an essential sector for Spain's recovery. For this reason, IQS is committed to education that focuses on fostering the entrepreneurial spirit and supporting the development of new business projects, especially those with a scientific, technical, or industrial nature.

Currently, IQS Tech Factory is the only industrial startup accelerator in Spain. Its activities include the annual IQS Tech Factory Acceleration Program event, its industrial startup acceleration program in which 82 startups have participated. After participating in the Acceleration Program, these startups have obtained over 43 million euros in financing and led to the creation of 310 jobs.
