Within the framework of the webinar cycles that IQS has offered to secondary school baccalaureate students in recent years, the session entitled "Female IQS Engineers working around the world" was held on 13 April, where the excellent professional career growth of recent IQS graduates was showcased.

Moderated by the head of the Department of Industrial Engineering, Dr Andrés Garcia, six female IQS engineering graduates from recent years presented their first-hand experience of their brief, yet already successful, working life up to date. They offered their visions and highlighted the multidisciplinary nature of the degree and the variety of professional opportunities in different areas and sectors, which can be gained thanks a degree as rigorous and skills-focused as the Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering.

During the session, the following recent graduates participated: Elena Qui Ventosa (class of 2017), currently a Senior Operations Manager at Amazon; Cristina Mas (class of 2018), currently a Project Leader at AIRBUS; Paola Manteca (class of 2018), currently a Tendering Manager for Europe and Latin America at Schneider Electric; Paula López Triquell (class of 2019), currently a Clinical Data Management Systems Consultant at Veeva Systems; Anna Díez Closas (class of 2021), currently working in the Supply Chain Leadership Development Program  at EColab; and Claudia Moslares (class of 2022), currently working as a Planner at Bertschi.

The diversity of job types that each of them does and the wide range of geographical locations where they work made it possible to offer a very global and enriching vision of the employment opportunities represented by studying engineering. The webinar attendees, primarily secondary school baccalaureate students, were able to participate online and ask questions to the speakers about the university studies they may end up choosing.

The gender gap in the engineering sector is very present in the professional world. Despite the fact that the presence of women has increased in technical studies, there continues to be a rather large difference in higher education. IQS carries out various activities to promote the participation of girls and women in the fields of science and technology. In addition, IQS has a STEAM scholarship program for female engineers, aimed at supporting the education of women who wish to apply to the Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering and the Undergraduate Programme in Chemical Engineering.
