During the URL graduation ceremony for academic year 2022-2023, held on 13 November at IQS, four PhD students from the IQS School of Engineering won the Extraordinary Doctoral Award.
During the URL graduation ceremony for academic year 2022-2023, held on 13 November at IQS, four PhD students from the IQS School of Engineering won the Extraordinary Doctoral Award. Given by the URL Doctoral Committee, the award recognizes the best projects by the following scientists:
- Núria Nadal Gratacós: PhD Programme in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the IQS School of Engineering-URL. Xavier Berzosa, one of her thesis supervisors, accepted the award on her behalf.
- Ariadna Chueca de Bruijn: PhD Programme in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering at the IQS School of Engineering-URL. Giovanni Gómez, one of her thesis supervisors, accepted the award on her behalf.
- Coral García Fernández: PhD Programme in Bioengineering at the IQS School of Engineering-URL.
- Nausika Betriu Rosselló: PhD Programme in Bioengineering at the IQS School of Engineering-URL.
The graduation ceremony for PhDs for academic year 2022-2023 at IQS-URL was attended by the Rector of the URL, Josep Antoni Rom; the Vice-rector of Research and Innovation of the URL, Jordi Teixidó; the Director of IQS-URL, Salvador Borrós; and the class sponsor, Carme Brosa, professor at IQS-URL from 2001 to 2014 and head of the Department of Organic Chemistry at the IQS School of Engineering from 1998 to 2002.
The objective of the event was to recognize students who have submitted their doctoral thesis throughout this past year and to highlight the value of research and knowledge transfer to society that is promoted by all the doctoral programmes within the different URL institutions.
