Students with Scholarships from the Altadia Group, through the IQS Business Foundation, Visit Esmalglass

IQS School of Engineering students who have received scholarships awarded by the Altadia Group, a member of the IQS Business Foundation, recently visited Esmalglass, one of the companies that forms part of the world’s leading group in the manufacture of frits, enamels, and additives for the decoration of construction ceramics.

The Altadia Group has awarded three Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarships to Álvaro Roviralta Pastor, 3rd year student in the Undergraduate Programme in Industrial Engineering, Guillermo Roviralta Pastor, 3rd year student in the Undergraduate Programme in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and Elisabet Víchez Cervera, 1st year student in the Undergraduate Programme in Biotechnology.

At the end of January, the three students and Dr Oriol Pou Ibar, coordinator of the Undergraduate Programme in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, visited the Esmalglass facilities, part of the Altadia Group, located in Vila-Real (Castellón). The company is home to all levels of the industrial process, ranging from design and manufacturing to sales and exhibitions. In addition, the company features a sample area for its products that is regularly updated and an important R&D&i  department that focuses on seeking new formulations and providing technical service to its customers.

Carmen Agut, Talent Coordinator with the Altadia Group, gave a presentation to showcase the different departments in the company: Production, Product Design, Research, and Sales.

This visit further strengthens IQS's relationship with the Altadia Group and the partner companies with the IQS Business Foundation, and IQS  thanks them for their commitment to talent and the institution.

The IQS Business Foundation, formed by more than 90 companies from various sectors, promotes corporate development at IQS, supports the MIT Spain Program, and promotes education, research, and relationships between IQS and the business world. One of the IQS Business Foundation's most noteworthy projects is the corporate scholarship programme: 160 Undergraduate Academic Excellence Scholarships, four Undergraduate Financial Aid Scholarships, 107 Master's Degree Scholarships, and one PhD Scholarship have been awarded through the IQS Business Foundation.
