IQS celebra el “Any Gaudí”

IQS celebrates “Any Gaudí” by welcoming the author of the first major biography of Antoni Gaudí written in the twenty-first century, Mn Armand Puig I Tàrrech. He is a Spanish Catholic priest, theologian, biblical scholar and essayist. He has served as Dean and later Rector of the Sant Pacià University Athenaeum (Barcelona), an institution bringing together several ecclesiastical faculties. He is currently President of the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO), based in Rome, the body responsible for quality assurance in the global ecclesiastical university system. His biography of Gaudí is distinguished by its historical rigor and by its deliberate effort to dismantle myths, clichés, and unfounded esoteric interpretations surrounding Gaudí. Puig presents the architect as a “total artist”, offering an integrated analysis of his architecture, symbolic imagination, and deep Christian spirituality. In addition, in his book, Gaudí appears as someone deeply committed to sustainability, innovation & creative management and with a deep love of humanity. His work has been widely acclaimed, consolidating Puig’s position as one of the leading contemporary authorities on Gaudí. It is an honour and a privilege to have him opening our activities of Any Gaudí at IQS.
