Within the framework of its commitment to higher education engaged in social transformation, IQS has strengthened its international ties in the field of university social responsibility through an institutional visit to CLAYSS (Latin American Center for Service-Learning) and the Uniservitate, carried out on April 1 in Buenos Aires (Argentina).
IQS Strengthens Its Social Commitment with a Strategic Visit to CLAYSS and Uniservitate in Buenos Aires
The visit was carried out by Paulo Milanesio, technician of the University Social Responsibility (USR) unit of IQS, and was led by Andrés Peregalli, Vice-Coordinator of Uniservitate. The meeting made it possible to strengthen ties between the institutions and to make progress in reinforcing the Service-Learning (SL) model as a key educational tool to integrate academic learning with social and community engagement.
As an active member of the Uniservitate network, IQS participates in this global program that promotes solidarity and social justice within Catholic Higher Education. The coordinating center of this network is CLAYSS, an internationally recognized organization in the promotion of innovative pedagogical methodologies that combine academic training with social impact, and that promotes education oriented toward the common good.
During the working session, Paulo Milanesio presented the development program of the IQS USR unit, sharing the institution’s strategic vision for integrating social commitment transversally across its scientific, technical, and educational domains. The exchange made it possible to address good practices, share experiences in Service-Learning projects, and jointly reflect on how to strengthen the training of professionals with ethical, social, and civic awareness.
This meeting reaffirms the vocation for service of IQS and consolidates its position within the international ecosystem of universities committed to social innovation and the generation of positive impact through higher education.
As a continuation of this line of work, the next meeting will take place in Bilbao, where the 13th National Congress and the 7th International Congress on University Service-Learning will be held. On this occasion, the USR unit will represent IQS and will present some of the experiences developed by the institution over the past year in this field.
