What do you like most about your job?
Dra. Ana de Sousa, Assistant Professor - IQS Department of Industrial Enginnering
The opportunity to collaborate with people from all over the world. I really value the exchange of ideas, perspectives and expertise that comes from working in international and interdisciplinary teams.
What would you like to spend more time on?
I love creating visual representations of my results so that they are clear and meaningful to different audiences. I would also like to spend more time meeting with collaborators, discussing our progress and thinking together about the next steps.
What are you most proud of?
I am proud of the network I have built over the years. I have found people I truly enjoy working with, and I believe that they also enjoy working with me.
The value you most appreciate in people…
I value honesty, self-knowledge, trust and hard work.
A place to get lost….
Any new city I am visiting, whether big or small. I love walking around, discovering new places and learning something new from the experience.
A dream you would like to pursue…
I do not have a fixed or measurable milestone in mind. What I would really love is to feel that I am recognised for rigorous, meaningful and high-quality work, while also being seen as a good, kind and reliable person to work with.
What do you still have to learn?
Learning should never stop, and that is one of the things that makes my profession so exciting. I would like to go deeper into how my work can be implemented in real world scenarios. In particular, I want to improve how I communicate and collaborate with physicians and other professionals involved in clinical practice.
