Chemistry is one of the branches of science that has contributed most to man’s material progress and to the formation of present day society thanks to its products and achievements. Nevertheless, undue use within the industry can have a negative influence on the environment, in spite of the fact that the same science provides us with the means to avoid these negative effects.

Aware of the problems that many enterprises have to face as regards the environment, we offer our collaboration in:

ENVIRONMENTAL LABORATORY FOR THE ANALYSIS OF DIOXINS AND RELATED COMPOUNDS

So as to complete the already wide offer of IQS in relation to the services of environmental analysis a laboratory has been built and put into operation. Virtually a pioneer in our country, it has been designed for and exclusively dedicated to the promotion and application of the technology of analysis of dioxins and related compounds in a variety of matrixes of interest to the environment, the food industry and health.

The laboratory is equipped with the following facilities:

An area for the reception and storage of samples.

An area dedicated exclusively to the treatment of very low concentrated samples.

A general laboratory equipped, among others, with a lyophilizator and eight fume-exhausting cabinets, where all the work of preparation, extraction, purification and concentration of samples are made.

An area with restricted access for the manipulation and control of the standards.

An area specially dedicated to the cleaning of the laboratory material.

A laboratory equipped with a high resolution mass spectrometer Autospec Ultima Micromass, coupled to a high resolution gas chromatograph Carlo Erba 8565 with sample injector.

Since December 1999 this laboratory has been authorized by ENAC for the determination of dioxins and polychlorinated furriness in emissions (Accreditation N° 196/LE344).

Furthermore, it has a long experience in the analysis of dioxins in different kinds of samples of interest to the environment (inmissions, ashes, sludges from waste treatment facilities, soils, sediments, waters and aqueous effluents, industrial products and industrial wastes,...) as well as the areas of human and animal foodstuffs (feeds, additives and oils, pastries and biscuits, meat and fish, dairy products, eggs and derivatives, vegetables, plasma and serum, among others).
